“ezz thetics” label reissues Trio New York recordings...remastered!
Werner Uehlinger, founder of hatHut records, is celebrating the company’s 50th year anniversary in 2025 with a new series called “ezz thetics”. I am happy to announce that the ezz thetics series has just reissued the first two Trio New York recordings originally published on my own label (prime source) from 2011 and 2013 with Gary Versace on organ and Gerald Cleaver on drums.
The reissue is called “About (or On), First Visit” and is a double CD package with a cover photo by Luca Buti taken in Greenwich Village not far from the former Cornelia Street Cafe where we often played. Inside is a postcard photo of the band taken by Scott Friedlander. The liner notes are written by journalist Bill Shoemaker and capture well the spirit of the music.
I’m happy that this music will have a bit further reach this time around and I invite you to consider adding it to your collection should you not already have the original releases. I might add that both titles, Trio New York and Trio New York II, have been remastered by Michael Brändli enriching the sonic nuance of those original recordings.
I have a limited number of the double CD package which I’m offering for direct mail order in the US. The cost is $25 which includes postage. Have a look under the “merch” tab of my Band Camp page.
Those of you outside the US can order the physical copy from distributors in your area. Consult the Hat Hut website for information.
Those of you are are digitally minded can get the music from the ezz-thetics Band Camp page.
PS As a reminder, there are a number of back catalogue CD titles still available. If interested, please have a look at the current list and feel free to send an e-mail with what interests you. I’m always happy to make deals.
